Featured Activities
Wasilla Pool offers a variety of activities including open swim, lap swim, swimming classes, water aerobics classes, and rentals. It features two water slides, a diving well, diving board, and a kiddies’ pool.
North Bowl is the place to go for a fun night of bowling, arcade games, and good food at Dale’s Diner. Thirty-two lanes means minimal wait time. Neon bowling and other special theme nights occur regularly throughout the year. Don’t forget to wear white or stripes to glow while you bowl!
Mat-Su Cinema features three theaters and shows the latest movies. Locally owned and operated, Mat-Su Cinema offers arcade games, snacks, and of course, movies!
North Star Speedway is not NASCAR, but it’s as close as you can get this far north! North Star Speedway is a safe, family-oriented destination fit for all your racing needs. With seating for over 3000 people, there will always be room for everyone. North Star Speedway features racing of the Legends cars, which were built in 1937 and 1940. American Race Trucks also compete here, and Driving School is available for those who want to race the trucks but haven’t had any experience.
North Star Speedway opened on June 14th in 1997. It is situated
on 40 acres of land and boasts scenic views of the surrounding
Chugach Mountain Range and Pioneer Peak. Encircled by fields and
forests, North Star Speedway brings you top-notch entertainment
right in the heart of Alaska’s outdoors.
In addition to the track and bleacher seating, North Star Speedway offers parking for 1,500 cars and a fenced-in playground. A full service kitchen and Budweiser Beer Garden are also available to the public. North Star Speedway is equipped with a Mackie Industrial/Community Sound PA system that allows you to get the most out of your experience. North Star Speedway is the speed central for racing entertainment and fun.
Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art facility that is home to an indoor turf field, ice arena, track, and community meeting rooms. Come participate in open skate (ice skate rentals available), pick-up soccer, turf for tots, or even run or walk on the track. Watch the Alaska Avalanche Hockey team compete, sign up for youth or adult soccer leagues or plan your next party in one of the meeting rooms.
The AT&T Sports Complex holds four basketball courts, an indoor track, and exercise and weightlifting equipment. All are welcome to come and work out, or sign up for basketball camps and tournaments for all ages.
The Brett Memorial Ice Arena offers hockey and figure skate rentals, open skate, skate lessons, birthday party rooms and more.
Alaska Golf-Shot is the place to go to keep your golfing and hunting skills sharp all year round. Five golfing and shooting simulators offer 54 golf courses, 15 shooting, and 8 archery simulations for you to enjoy. A putting green with a large variety of slopes and distances is available to help prefect your shot.
Wasilla Public Library is Wasilla’s media center with a wide selection of books, magazines, newspapers, computer time, and other resources free for public use. The Librarians here strive to bring in a selection for everyone and are constantly adding to their resources.
