Wasilla Chamber Photo Contest Rules
Welcome to the Wasilla Chamber Photo Contest! The Wasilla Chamber is proud to host this contest to showcase the natural beauty and unique way of life in the Mat-Su Valley. This year’s contest includes six categories: wildlife, landscape, activities & events, recreation, people, and Mat-Su life. We invite all photography enthusiasts to submit their best photographs that capture the essence of the Mat-Su Valley.
Please read the following rules carefully before submitting your photographs. By participating in the contest, you agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your photographs!
- Eligibility: The photo contest is open to all individuals who are legal residents of the United States.
- Submission Guidelines: Participants may submit an unlimited number of photographs for consideration. The photographs must be in digital format and must be submitted via the submission form (https://form.jotform.com/222445494808160). Photos need to be in high-resolution format. Photos may include unobtrusive watermarks. Participants need to submit a new form with each photo submission.
- Photo Release: By submitting a photograph, the participant grants the Wasilla Chamber a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display the photograph in any manner and in any medium now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to, print publications, social media, and the Wasilla Chamber’s website. The participant further represents and warrants that they have obtained all necessary permissions and releases from any individuals depicted in the photograph, and that the photograph does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Judging Criteria: The judging criteria will include originality, composition, technical proficiency, and adherence to one of the six categories: wildlife, landscape, activities & events, recreation, people, and Mat-Su life. The judging panel shall score photos independently, and the scores combined to determine the category winner.
- Prizes: The Wasilla Chamber will award a grand prize of $500 in each of the six categories. Prizes for Runners Up will be awarded to 10% of the total entry in each category.
- Rights to Photographs: The participant retains all ownership rights to the photographs submitted to the contest. However, the participant acknowledges and agrees that the Wasilla Chamber may use the photographs for promotional purposes, without further compensation to the participant.
- General Terms: The Wasilla Chamber reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify the contest at any time, for any reason. The Wasilla Chamber also reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates these rules or who engages in fraudulent or unethical behavior. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these rules or the contest will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wasilla, Alaska.
