Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 27th Annual Military Appreciation Lunch at Settlers Bay Golf Course
WASILLA, AK – May 24th, 2023 – The Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce hosted its highly anticipated 27th Annual Military Appreciation Lunch yesterday, May 23rd, at the prestigious Settlers Bay Golf Course. The event brought together veterans, active-duty military personnel, and esteemed community members to honor and express gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of our brave servicemen and women.
The Military Appreciation Lunch, a cherished tradition in the Greater Wasilla area, showcased the community’s unwavering support for our military heroes. The event was attended by a diverse group of veterans and active-duty military personnel, all of whom were warmly welcomed by the community.
Highlighting the program were exceptional speakers who shared their experiences, insights, and inspiring stories. The chamber was privileged to have Brigadier General Simon Brown as a keynote speaker, who delivered an impactful address highlighting the significance of military service and its impact on our local community.
In addition to General Brown’s insightful speech, three distinguished veterans graced the stage, captivating the audience with their personal stories of courage and resilience. The veteran speakers included Melvin Sage-EL, Jeremy Burke, and Jessy Lakin who all shared lessons of resilience and determination from the military that echo in their civilian careers.
