Serving on the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is an opportunity to help shape the Chamber’s direction, strengthen our organization, and contribute to a thriving Greater Wasilla business community.
Board members serve as organizational leaders and ambassadors for the Chamber. They provide strategic and financial oversight, help establish organizational priorities, support the Chamber’s mission and programs, and bring the perspective of our diverse membership into Board-level discussions and decisions.
Before You Nominate
Prospective Board members should be prepared to:
- Actively participate in Board meetings, planning, and decision-making.
- Support and uphold the Chamber’s mission, strategic direction, bylaws, and policies.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Chamber within the business and broader community.
- Maintain a Chamber membership in good standing through their business or organization.
- Engage thoughtfully in the governance and financial oversight of the organization.
- Support Chamber initiatives, programs, events, advocacy efforts, and membership engagement.
- Commit the time necessary to be an engaged and effective member of the Board.
Candidates are encouraged to review the Board of Directors Job Description and Board Service Overview before submitting a nomination to better understand the responsibilities, expectations, and commitment associated with Board service.
Ready to Serve?
Self-nominations are open October 5 through November 24.
If you are ready to bring your experience, perspective, and leadership to the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce, complete the Board of Directors Self-Nomination Application by the November 24 deadline.
Following the nomination period, the nominations committee will present the final slate of candidates to the membership for an online election held December 14 through January 4.
